Camp Xakanaxa

Classic Meru tents on the waterline · Xakanaxa Lagoon · Desert & Delta Safaris (Chobe Holdings)

A drawing stands in because nobody has sent us a photograph of Camp Xakanaxa yet. We only publish images we have permission for. Send us five and this page changes the same week.

High-end Inside the park Safari company

The classic old safari camp of the reserve, on the Xakanaxa lagoon system since the 1970s and one of very few places anywhere in Moremi offering both game drives and boat safaris year-round. If you want the traditional tented atmosphere rather than contemporary lodge design, this is the pick of the Xakanaxa cluster.

Why you'd pick it

  • Rare year-round land plus boat safaris from inside the reserve
  • Old-school Meru canvas rather than glass-and-villa styling
  • Direct access to the Gcodikwe heronry by boat

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Moremi Game Reserve charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside, and almost no booking site shows you that.

Park entryP270 for non-residents, roughly $20.
$20per person, per day
VehicleP75 a day for a foreign-registered vehicle, roughly $6.
$6per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $138 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Rates

From $690 pppn. Third-party 2026 calendar: $690 low to $1,290 high season. One correction: Xakanaxa Camp and Camp Xakanaxa are the same place, renamed when Desert & Delta acquired it in 2013. Some directories still list it twice.

What the rate covers is not confirmed. We have not been able to check whether meals, drinks and activities are included here, so treat this figure as the bed alone until it is.

Indicative 2026 rates per person per night sharing, gathered July 2026 from operators' own rate sheets where published. Several operators (Kwando Safaris, Desert & Delta, Kwalate Safaris) publish no public rates at all; where that is the case we say 'on enquiry' rather than print a guess. Always confirm with the lodge, and check whether park fees are included.
