DWNP does not publish a downloadable Moremi map, which is a genuine gap. The practical references are the commercial Tracks4Africa paper map and its offline app coverage, plus the sketch maps at the gates. Coordinates below are approximate, rounded for orientation: navigate by Tracks4Africa on the ground, not by this page.
Key coordinates
Save these before you go. Mobile coverage inside the park is patchy at best, and a set of waypoints in an offline app will get you out of trouble faster than anything else.

Navigating Moremi
- Tracks4Africa covers Moremi properly, including which tracks flood seasonally. Buy the paper map as a backup and the app for the vehicle.
- Download the Botswana region in OsmAnd or Organic Maps as a free offline fallback.
- Ask at the gate which routes and bridges are currently open; after the 2026 floods this changes month to month.
- Plan every day backwards from gate hours: distances are short but the sand is slow, and 42 km to Xakanaxa takes around two and a half hours.
The bridges decide your route
Moremi's western circuit hangs on wooden log bridges with a 5-tonne limit. First and Second Bridge are normally passable; Third Bridge itself is the fragile one, and when it is out, the direct Third Bridge to Xakanaxa link closes and the detour via South Gate takes over five hours. As of the last reliable 2026 reports the Third Bridge area was still closed, so verify before building a route through it.
There is no fuel, no cash and effectively no supplies inside the reserve (the Third Bridge shop is basic). Fill up and stock up in Maun, carry recovery gear and enough water for the whole loop, and treat the veterinary fence at Shorobe as a one-way door for meat and eggs: fine going north, not coming back.
