Park-run (DWNP)
The campsite with the best position in Moremi, on the edge of the Xakanaxa lagoons where the dry Mopane Tongue meets permanent water. Book through Kwalate Safaris in Maun (office above FNB, New Mall), not DWNP, and book far ahead: this is one of the two campsites that fill first. Unfenced, no power, and elephants walk through camp, so no citrus in your food boxes.

The rate above buys you a bed. Moremi Game Reserve charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

How many sites does Xakanaxa Campsite have?
Eight, confirmed on the operator's own page, within the eight-to-ten range some directories quote. It sits on the lagoon system where the dry Mopane Tongue meets permanent water, and sells out months ahead for the June to October season.
How do you book Xakanaxa Campsite?
Book through Kwalate Safaris directly, either via stay-botswana.com or at its Maun office above FNB at the New Mall, not through DWNP. The operator confirms solar-heated showers and flush toilets at the ablution block, with no power or shop mentioned on site.
Is Xakanaxa Campsite fenced?
No. The operator's own page states that all the campsites in Moremi Game Reserve are unfenced, Xakanaxa included, so elephants and other wildlife can walk through camp. Store food carefully and follow the usual precautions for an unfenced bush site.
