The most interesting ownership story in the Delta right now. When Belmond's lease was not renewed, the land was returned to the Khwai community, the old lodge was demolished, and Sediba Sa Rona opened in March 2026, run by Desert & Delta with Savanna Expeditions, a company described as 100 percent Botswana-citizen-owned. Accurate framing: a citizen-owned partner on community land, not a community-owned lodge. Guides still quoting 'Belmond Khwai River Lodge' are three years out of date.

Yes. The operator's own page confirms night game drives can be requested in place of or alongside afternoon drives, because Sediba Sa Rona sits on Khwai community land bordering Moremi rather than inside the reserve, where night drives are not permitted.
