Mombo Camp

Tented suites on raised walkways · Northern tip of Chief's Island, fly-in only · Wilderness

A drawing stands in because nobody has sent us a photograph of Mombo Camp yet. We only publish images we have permission for. Send us five and this page changes the same week.

Top-end Inside the park Safari company

The most famous camp in Botswana, on the game-rich northern tip of Chief's Island. The predator viewing is extraordinary, but know the rules before you pay this much: Mombo sits inside Moremi, so there are no night drives and no off-road driving, whatever the price tag. Wilderness was founded in Botswana in 1983 and is now a privately held pan-African group.

Why you'd pick it

  • Widely called the predator capital of Africa
  • Chief's Island game density without another vehicle in sight
  • The camp where the Okavango's famous maned lionesses were documented

What's here

Arranged from the lodge:

  • Game drives
  • Boat trips
  • Guided walks
  • Night drives
  • Birding

Read from Mombo Camp's own website in July 2026. Anything not listed we could not confirm, which is not the same as it being absent.

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Moremi Game Reserve charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside, and almost no booking site shows you that.

Park entryP270 for non-residents, roughly $20.
$20per person, per day
VehicleP75 a day for a foreign-registered vehicle, roughly $6.
$6per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $138 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Rates

From $2,889 pppn. Published 2026 rates run $2,889 low season to $5,043 high season, fully inclusive. Little Mombo, a sole-use four-suite annexe, runs from $3,190.

What the rate covers is not confirmed. We have not been able to check whether meals, drinks and activities are included here, so treat this figure as the bed alone until it is.

Indicative 2026 rates per person per night sharing, gathered July 2026 from operators' own rate sheets where published. Several operators (Kwando Safaris, Desert & Delta, Kwalate Safaris) publish no public rates at all; where that is the case we say 'on enquiry' rather than print a guess. Always confirm with the lodge, and check whether park fees are included.
